Check the fit first

Confirm your gimbal's thread from its documentation or by measuring the shaft. This tool never assumes it from the brand.
Switch the preview to Fit test nuts and print the set. One, two and three grooves mark tight, middle and loose.
Use the clearance of the nut that turns by hand without wobble, then print the full design with the same printer, material and settings.

Orientation

Stand the part on its shaft end, head up. The thread axis stays vertical, so layers form the thread cleanly.
Use supports only if the app warns about a steep underside.
For a smooth hole you plan to tap, printing upright also gives the tap even walls to cut.

Small grip details

Use a 0.4 mm nozzle or finer, with layers of 0.12 mm or less around the thread.
Fine FDM threads such as M3 × 0.5 are at the limit of the process. A resin printer or a tapped pilot hole may give a better result.
Keep ridges at least 0.3 mm deep and teeth at least 0.6 mm tall, or they may disappear.

Before you fly

Screw the stick end on by hand. Back it off and clean the thread if it binds, and do not force it.
Move the stick through its full travel to check the head clears the case, switches and your other stick.
Test that it stays tight with gentle pressure. Check for cracks at the neck, particularly along layer lines.
